Computer Literacy

Hello there,

To be computer literate means being able to maneuver around a computer. When someone is computer literate they know how to fix things and where to find things within the computer. I believe that I am somewhat computer literate but I also know that I have a lot to learn. I know the basics of Microsoft products and I know how to save and create documents with those products. I feel very comfortable using a computer or showing others how to use a computer. Someone that I would consider computer literate is our IT guy at work. Every time there is something I have a question about he is able to help. My grandparents, on the other hand, are not very computer literate. A couple of years ago they bought a computer and I tried to show them how to use it but I don't think they understood the concept of what a computer is.

My name is Kayla. I graduated high school in 2007 and this is my third year at Lone Star College. I took an online class in high school but this is the first online class I have taken with Lone Star. I am hoping to have my Associates Degree by the end of the Summer. While going to school I also work full-time. In my free time I enjoy working out and reading.
